Germany’s Helen Kevric, Ukraine’s Radomyr Stelmakh, the Romanian women’s team and the Italian men’s team triumphed at the 16th European Youth Olympic Festival taking place this week in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia.
Kevric edged Amalia Puflea of Romania for the women’s all-around gold, and Stelmakh bettered Italy’s Riccardo Villa by 0.05 points to take the men’s all-around title.

Kevric added three additional medals to her collection in the apparatus finals, where she took gold on vault and silvers on uneven bars and floor exercise. Martina Pieratti of Italy placed first on uneven bars, and Pulfea won golds on balance beam and floor exercise.
Stelmakh, a 17-year-old from Zaporizhzhya, was a member of the gold medal-winning Ukrainian team at the 2020 European Junior Championships, where he placed seventh all-around in qualifications and sixth in the pommel horse final. Last year he was third all-around at the eG Wohnen Juniors Trophy in Cottbus, Germany.
Villa, Tommaso Brugnami and Davide Oppizzio combined to take the men’s team title over silver medalist Great Britain and bronze medalist Switzerland.
