World and Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson (U.S.) is among the 13 contestants for the upcoming season of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars."

ABC officially announced the names of the celebrities during Sunday night's lineup, but several Web sites scooped the network by revealing the new cast hours earlier.

The 17-year-old gymnast will be the youngest contestant yet on the hit reality show that pairs celebrities with professional dancers.

Johnson is the reigning world champion in the all-around and floor exercise. She won four medals at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing: gold on the balance beam and silvers in the team competition, in the all-around and floor exercise.

The other celebrity contestants on "Dancing With The Stars 8" are musicians Belinda Carlisle, Jewel, Lil Kim and Chuck Wicks; comedians David Alan Grier and Steve-O, actor Gilles Marini, rodeo cowboy Ty Murray, entertainment anchor Nancy O'Dell, actress Denise Richards, NFL legend Lawrence Taylor and Apple computer co-founder Steve Wozniak.

If Johnson were to win, she would not be the first Olympic champion crowned on the show. Speedskater Apolo Anton Ohno won season four and figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi won season six.

"Dancing With The Stars 8" premieres March 9 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. on ABC, and will run through May.
