Many of the world's best gymnasts are enjoying a post-Olympic break, but others are hard at work for more competition in 2008.

There will be five World Cup event this fall, beginning with the inaugural Hungarian World Cup, Oct. 3-5 in Szombathely. European pommel horse champion Krisztian Berki headlines the field, which also includes 2008 Olympics Robert Gal and Dorina Boczogo.

Attention next will shift to Great Britain and its annual Glasgow Grand Prix, Oct. 17-19. Great Britain will play host to three major gymnastics events over the next six years: the 2009 World Championships in London, the 2012 Olympic Games in London and the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

The Czech Republic will hold its annual Ostrava Grand Prix Nov. 6-8, followed by the long-running DTB Cup, Nov. 14-16 in Stuttgart.

The two-year World Cup cycle concludes Dec. 12-14 with the World Cup Final in Madrid, Spain. It will be the last World Cup Final in the near future, as the FIG voted this year to cancel future such events.
