A series of flashbacks from the 2018 World Championships in Doha.

The French women finished the team final just 1.102 points shy of bronze in Doha, but team member Juliette Bossu said fifth place was fine enough.

“We knew that, if we wanted to win a medal, everything had to be perfect,” she said. “We’re pleased. We weren’t thinking about a place. We were just thinking about doing the best we could, and that’s what we did. We made some mistakes but we’re fifth, and for us it’s pretty cool.”

Bossu said the U.S. women’s dominant performance in Doha impressed her, as did France’s favorable comparison.

“As usual, they are high level,” she said of the U.S. team that won the team final by 8.766 points. “They are unbelievable. It’s pretty cool to see them compete like they do, so we think we can compete not like them, but close to them, maybe.”
