Super Six Set for Women's NCAAs

Six teams advanced across two qualifying sessions at the NCAA Championships for Women in Fort Worth, Texas. In the afternoon session, defending co-champion Florida tied nine-time NCAA champion Utah for the top score (197.475). Stanford climbed into the third and final spot with 197.175. Michigan (197.025), Georgia (196.600) and UCLA (196.400) completed the six-team prelim.

In the evening session, defending co-champion Oklahoma posted a leading 197.40 in spite of falls on balance beam from its first two competitors. Alabama was second with 197.10, and Auburn grabbed the third berth to Saturday's Super Six finals with 197.075. Nebraska (196.675), LSU (196.55; three falls at beam) and Oregon State (195.875) rounded out the second prelim.

Florida's Kytra Hunter and UCLA's Samantha Peszek tied for the all-around title with 39.600, and Auburn's Caitlin Atkinson and LSU's Rheagan Courville tied for third with 39.55. As a freshman, Hunter also won the all-around in 2012.
