Video: Bouhail Battles Daily Struggle
(5 votes, average 5.00 out of 5)

More than two years after a broken leg nearly caused his leg to be amputated, 2010 world vault champion Thomas Bouhail (France) is still adjusting to life without competition. His original goal had been to be an Olympic champion, but now his goal is to lead a normal life.

In December 2011, Bouhail suffered a broken left leg dismounting high bar. A routine injury cost him his career, however, as sudden complications caused necrosis of his lower leg tissue. Multiple surgeries were performed to save his leg, but today he still walks with a cane.

L'Equipe caught up with Bouhail, who has returned to the gym but in a different capacity.
