The German Gymnastics Federation (DTB) finalized its team Tuesday for the 2008 Olympic Games, which begin Aug. 9 in Beijing.

The DTB nominated for the women's team Katja Abel (SC Berlin), Daria Bijak (TT Toyota Köln/University of Utah), Anja Brinker (TV Herkenrath), Oksana Chusovitina (TT Toyota Köln), Marie-Sophie Hindermann (TSG Tübingen) and Joeline Möbius (TuS Chemnitz-Altendorf). Traveling alternate Kim Bui (TSG Tübingen) will go to Beijing, and second alternate Susann Herbst (TuS Chemnitz Altendorf) will attend the national team training camp.

For the German men's team Philipp Boy (SC Cottbus), Fabian Hambüchen (TSG Wetzlar-niedergirmes), Robert Juckel (SC Cottbus), Marcel Nguyen (TSV Unterhaching), Eugen Spiridonov (TV Bous) and Thomas Andergassen (KTV Stuttgart) were nominated. Alternates Helge Liebrich (TSV Süssen) and Robert Weber (TSV Ehmen) will travel to Japan, where the men's team will prepare prior to Beijing. Additional alternates Matthias Fahrig (SV Halle) and Anton Wirth (MTV Stuttgart) will attend the national team training camp in Kienbaum.

"It was not an easy decision for us.... But of course this also speaks for the great abilities of the team with which we want to go to Beijing," said Wolfgang Willam, sports director of the DTB.
