Jacoby Miles, 15, of Puyallup, Wash., sustained a neck injury last week while training on the uneven bars. The Level 9 gymnast at Roach Gymnastics was doing a double flyaway during practice, a skill she had done many times, when she got lost and opened early. She sustained a spinal cord injury when she landed. Miles underwent surgery at Harborview Medical Center last Saturday and is currently paralyzed from the midchest down. Her doctors are hopeful for her to regain more movement. Read more.
