Olympians Anna Pavlova (Russia) and Javier Gómez (Spain) won the all-around titles Saturday at the Schiltigheim International in France. Pictured: Pavlova flanked by runner-up Amélie Pauffert and bronze medalist Manon Cormoreche, both of France.

Two-time Russian Olympian Anna Pavlova and Spain's Javier Gómez won the all-around titles Saturday at the Schiltigheim International in France.

The second annual invitational attracted gymnasts from 14 nations to Schiltigheim, a suburb of Strasbourg near the German border.

Pavlova, who turned 25 in September, earned her second international title this fall after a victory at the 12th Dityatin Cup in October. She took the top score on three of the events, with matched scores of 14.566 on vault (double-twisting Yurchenko with a step) and balance beam (side somi; Yezhova; front aerial, ff, layout; wobble on full furn with leg held; Omelianchik; 2 1/2 twist; click to watch). Still competing with a knee brace, Pavlova showed simple tumbling but her grace and maturity on floor was as noteworthy as ever (double pike; whip, triple twist; layout front full; click to watch).

Pavlova met disaster on uneven bars, however, scoring just 11.500 (3.5 Difficult value only). She struggled on her front giant, only going over the bar on her third attempt into a Jaeger. She threw a beautiful Pak salto but dismounted with a giant full to layout flyaway to protect her knee (click to watch).

French national team members Amélie Pauffert, 15, and Manon Cormoreche, 16, followed Pavlova in the standings.

Two-time Czech Olympian Kristyna Palesova had the top score on uneven bars with 13.600 (Stalder-full, Stalder shoot to high; Stalder-blind to Jaeger; Tkatchev; double layout), but struggled on balance beam (10.800).

Gómez, 23rd all-around at the 2012 Olympics, grabbed the gold medal in the men's competition over France's Kévin Antoniotti and Czech Olympian Martin Konecny.

France's Jim Zona, 20, won titles on floor exercise, vault and parallel bars, while Gómez won pommel horse and still rings. Antoniotti, a native of Reunion Island, won high bar.

France is set for more international gymnastics in November with the 16th Tournament in Combs-la-Ville this coming weekend and the Elite Gym Massilia in Marseille (Nov. 16-18).

Your current web browser must be updated to version 7 of Internet Explorer (IE7) to take advantage of all of template's capabilities.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
