Pinches, Thomas Take English Titles

Kristian Thomas and Jennifer Pinches captured the senior all-around titles at the English Gymnastics Championships, held this past weekend in Kent.

Thomas (Earls) scored a solid 90.901 to take the title over 2011 world team alternate Max Whitlock , 90.901-87.727. Reiss Beckford , another South Essex gymnast — won the bronze with 85.033.

Pinches (Liverpool) won the women's title with 55.150. Heathrow's Danusia Francis — who has signed to compete for UCLA — won the silver medal over Niamh Rippin (Notts), 54.650-53.600.

British superstars Beth Tweddle and Louis Smith were golden in apparatus finals. Smith owned pommel horse, while Tweddle debuted a new routine with a double-twisting double tuck dismount for 15.95.
