Shawn Johnson Headlines CoverGirl Classic Roster

Nearly three years after she last competed, 2007 world all-around champion Shawn Johnson (U.S.) is set to return to competition Saturday at the CoverGirl Classic in Chicago.

World and Olympic champion Shawn Johnson is set to return to competition Saturday.

Johnson plans to compete at least uneven bars and balance beam in Chicago, but coach Liang Chow said the pair will decide on Saturday whether she will also do vault and floor exercise. She last competed in August 2008 at the Olympic Games in Beijing, winning the gold medal on balance beam on the final day of gymnastics competition.

Johnson followed up her Olympic gold with a winning season of "Dancing with the Stars" before suffering a torn ACL while skiing in January 2010.

Nervous about her return, the 19-year-old Johnson hashtagged keywords "anxiety," "butterflies" and even "heartattack" on Twitter as Saturday's competition approaches.

"I'm feeling scared and anxious and excited and blind, kind of," said Johnson, who won four medals in Beijing. "I don't know. I have no idea what's going to happen."

The stacked field also includes three-time world champion Alicia Sacramone, two-time world all-around medalist Rebecca Bross, American Cup champion Jordyn Wieber and 2005 world champion Chellsie Memmel.

Other standouts on the roster include Katelyn Ohashi, Kyla Ross, McKayla Maroney, Anna Li, Mackenzie Caquatto, Alexandra Raisman and Gabrielle Douglas.

The CoverGirl Classic is the final qualifier to the U.S. national championships, taking place in August in St. Paul, Minn.

Fans can watch the senior competition live on the Universal Sports website (universalsports.com) and cable station beginning at 7 p.m. local (8 p.m. Eastern).
