(2 votes, average 5.00 out of 5)

First-year senior Carlotta Ferlito and veteran Enrico Pozzo each won two gold medals as the Italian national championships ended this weekend in Meda.

Ferlito, the all-around silver medalist on Friday and vault runner-up Saturday, won gold medals on balance beam and floor exercise on Sunday. Ferlito earned the high score of the women's competition, 14.800, to take the title on balance beam.

Carlotta Ferlito won two gold medals at the Italian gymnastics championships in Meda.

All-around champion Vanessa Ferrari won a complete set of medals in finals: gold on uneven bars, silver on floor exercise and bronze on balance beam. The 2006 world champion tied Ferlito for first on floor exercise, but was bumped to second because of a tie-break.

2005 European vault champion Francesca Benolli, 20, won the gold medal on vault and bronze medal on uneven bars.

Junior Francesca De Agostini won silver medals on uneven bars and balance beam (14.550) and the bronze medal on floor exercise.

Men's all-around champion Enrico Pozzo won gold medals on floor exercise and high bar. Pozzo, 30, won his fifth national all-around championship on Friday. On high bar he performed an original element he plans to submit to the FIG Men's Technical Committee.

Three-time Olympian Alberto Busnari picked up his 13th national title on pommel horse. Busnari, who turns 32 this fall, has won every Italian pommel horse title but two since 1997.

All-around silver medalist Matteo Morandi won his sixth Italian title on still rings.

Youth Olympic Games bronze medalist Ludovico Edalli won the title on parallel bars. Edalli also won the Savino Guglielmetti Trophy, named after the great Italian pioneer.

Marco Lodadio, bronze medalist at the 2010 Junior Europeans in Birmingham, won the gold medal on vault with two 6.6-Difficulty vaults (handspring double front and Tsukahara double tuck).

"Finally we closed the gap on the second vault," said his coach, Gigi Rocchini. "In England, he did a layout Tsukahara full for 5.4 Difficulty. Good progress for a guy who still has plenty of room for improvement, and not only on vault."
