(7 votes, average 4.43 out of 5)

The U.S. women won both team titles and swept the all-around medals at the 4th City of Jesolo Trophy, held Saturday in the town north of Venice.

First-year senior McKayla Maroney led the U.S. gymnasts to the senior team title over Italy and Russia. Maroney, who trains with Artur Akopyan and Galina Marinova, earned a 16.000 on vault for an outstanding Yurchenko 2 1/2 that earned 9.500 in execution (click for video).

American Cup champion Jordyn Wieber placed second after taking a scary fall on floor exercise (video). Alexandra Raisman won the bronze over first-year senior Gabrielle Douglas, who threw a front aerial, back full combination on beam (video).

Youth Olympic all-around bronze medalist Carlotta Ferlito placed fifth, leading Italy to second over Russia.

Second a year ago to Russia's Anastasia Grishina, two-time U.S. junior champion Kyla Ross outscored all gymnasts in Jesolo this year, including the seniors. Her double-twisting Yurchenko brought 15.45 (9.65 Execution), and she had the highest score of the meet on beam (video).

Madison Kocian won the silver medal, hitting her new uneven bars combination of toe-on, toe-full, Stalder-Shaposhnikova half (video). WOGA teammate Katelyn Ohashi took third after falling from beam on her layout full (video). Ohashi had the top score on floor exercise, where she replaced her new mount of layout front, double front with a safer 1 1/2 to double-twisting front (video).

Grishina, a triple gold medalist at the 2010 Junior Europeans, upgraded her vault to a double-twisting Yurchenko and notched the highest score of the meet on uneven bars (video). She changed her round off, tucked full on beam to a two-foot layout, but dropped off after her Onodi (video). On floor exercise, she showed a new mount of Arabian double front but sat it down (video).

The Russian team did not arrive in Italy until noon on Friday, Grishina's mother Galina told IG.

Additionally, Japan had been scheduled to attend, but the recent earthquake left them unable to depart from their planned airport. The Japanese gymnasts, including junior star Mai Murakami, traveled to the international airport in Narita, but could not secure flights to Italy.
