Ukraine grabbed four gold medals in Sunday's event finals at the World University Games in Bangkok.

Olga Scherbatykh, the all-around silver medalist, placed first on vault and eighth on two other events. Teammate Daria Zgoba won uneven bars over all-around champion Zhou Zhuoru of China, who also won the silver medal on balance beam.

Fan Ye, the 2005 Games all-around champion and 2007 all-around bronze medalist, finished first on balance beam and second on floor exercise. Russia's Alyona Polyan won floor exercise.

In the men's finals, Ukraine also won two titles. Alexander Vorobyev placed first on rings, and Andrei Isayev placed first on vault.

The Japanese men were the most successful, however, with three gold medals. All-around champion Hisashi Mizutori won on high bar and placed second on floor exercise, the latter event which was won by his teammate Kohei Uchimura.

All-around silver medalist Guo Weiyang (China) tied Japan's Kazuya Ueda for the gold medal on parallel bars.

Slovenia's Saso Bertoncelj won on pommel horse, with the largest margin of victory in the men's or women's final.
