Golenkova Best in Belgrade

Ukrainian Valentina Golenkova dominated the European Youth Olympic Festival, which concluded Friday in Belgrade, Serbia.

Golenkova, 15, led Ukraine to the team title over The Netherlands and Romania on Tuesday. She won the individual all-around title on Wednesday over Romanians Cerasela Patrascu and Andreea Acatrinei.

Golenkova added two more gold medals Friday in the individual apparatus finals, winning the titles on uneven bars and balance beam.

Patrascu won vault and Germany's Joeline Möbius won floor exercise.

Established in 1991, the European Youth Olympic Festival is a multi-sport event held every two years as a showcase for young European athletes. This year's gymnastics competition was open to females born in 1992 and 1993.

Past winners of the European Youth Olympic Festival include Russia's Yevgenia Kuznetsova (1995), Anna Kovalyova (1997) and Yulia Lozhechko (2003), Ukraine's Anna Shakhoval (1993), Olga Roschupkina (1999) Alina Kozich (2001). Italy's Vanessa Ferrari won in 2005.
