Biography
Most known for her work on uneven bars, Daria Zgoba has been a top hope for Ukraine since winning a bronze medal on the event at the 2004 Junior European Championships in Amsterdam. Three years later, in the same arena, she improved on her feat by winning the gold medal on bars at the senior Europeans.

A gymnast with outstanding flexibility, Zgoba has been inconsistent in competition. She has grown to be an outspoken competitor, and stated that — because of poor training conditions — the Ukrainian team is merely shooting for an appearance in team finals in Beijing.

Her coach, Oksana Khryzhnovskaya, describes Zgoba as a very intense worker, who demands perfection from herself in everything she does and puts a lot of pressure on herself. Zgoba is hoping to debut a new move on uneven bars in Beijing, which she created together with Khryzhnovskaya.

Zgoba has one older sister, Katya.
