Moceanu gave birth Friday afternoon in Cleveland to son Vincent Michael, who weighed 8 lbs. 9 ozs. and measured 19.5 inches long.

"A big healthy boy!" said Canales, a former gymnast at Ohio State University.

It is the second child for the former gymnasts. Daughter Carmen Noel was born on Christmas Day 2007.

Moceanu was a member of the gold medal-winning U.S. team at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. She won back-to-back junior and senior U.S. all-around titles in 1994 and 1995. She won the all-around gold at the 1998 Goodwill Games, and is the only U.S. gymnast to do so.

Moceanu combines her duties as a mother with coaching gymnastics and attending college. She plans to graduate with a degree in business in May.
