Default The Nastia Liukin Cup (And its qualifiers)

So qualifiers for the NLC to be held on March 5th (On the American Cup Podium) began this weekend, and I figured I could gather the qualifiers as the come out. (With a little info of course.)

Nastia and Steve Penny announced that it was a competition for Level 10 gymnasts. They DIDN'T say that Elite gymnasts can qualify while competing in an "Open" Category. I'm kind of disappointed, because I was super excited to see a bunch of new girls in a major national competition. So far, I'm not seeing that, but it's still super early.

Anyway, I'd just like to say that I'd LOVE to keep this page as much as possible, so if you've got any more info on qualifiers, let me know!!!

Thanks for starting this thread Bekah!

So I don't get it... I was also under the impression that it was JUST for level 10s. Wasn't that the whole point, to give girls who haven't competed on a podium a chance to do so?

I was really hoping to take my daughter to some of the CGA competitions, but we weren't able to this weekend. Only about 20 minutes from my house, this is going on. And I can't be there. Uf.

This is a blurb from her website:

I wanted to make sure it wasn’t for the Elite athletes,” Nastia added of her original wishes for the competition that bears her name. “The Level 10 girls might not ever get the experience to compete on the podium, or may later in their career, so it’s so cool that they’re going to be able to start that early on.”

They're both level 10's! (YAY!)

And I got most of Stephani's info from her gymdivas page and Pauline's from a little bit of MMS, Youtube and USAG Research .

Oooh, I just noticed there's a meet in WI Dells. I might totally go check that out.

Pauline is 16, born October of 1993. I guess each competition gets to choose how they are going to select qualifiers as Buckeye states they will choose the highest AA of 15 and under and highest all around of 17+.
