lilypod you narcissist!!
i'm bothered this turned into a discussion of who's the better gymnast since the title is "by the numbers".
by the numbers wieber is better than komova since she scored a 60.2 and the highest Komova has scored (if i'm not mistaken) is 59.8
therefore by the numbers Wieber has had higher executions scores since, again, by the numbers, Wieber's difficulty score isn't as high as Komova's.
however it is very important to note that both their scores were achieved in different compotion. It is also important to not that Komova's highest score was achieved in international competition whereas Wieber's was on home ground. whether or not that means anything is entirely subjective.
i am curious, Komova seems to have three beam routines that she rotates. One that she has yet to nailed completely but does occasionally throw in competition, usually in event finals. all routines have relatively same elements except the following differences
her simplest routine involves the BH + 2 LOSO, a standing arabian and double tuck dismount in combination
her commonly performed routine includes BH + 2 LOSO, a standing arabian and a patterson dismount done in combination.
the most difficult routine I've seen her throw, includes not only the patterson dismount done in combination, but also a BH + LOSO + Arabian in combination. I don't have difficulty score for this routine but am curious if someone does.
for the record komova is the better gymnast, but i'm not trying to convince anyone. because lilypod agrees
