I would love, love LOVE to see an interview with members of the 1988 DDR Women's team (Dagmar Kersten, Doerte Thimmler, etc.) to see how they feel about their gift of a bronze medal at those Olympics and to ask if they felt they deserved it over the US team.
I think it would be an interesting question if asked in the right way. I doubt any respectable journalist would actually tell them they were given a gift and then ask how they felt about it.
I think just a simple asking of how they felt about the controversy surrounding the final team standings would do to start a conversation. IG2 asked Rhonda Faehn about the pulling of the springboard. I know those questions are tough to approach or deal with, but sometimes it turns out well. I think Rhonda said she was actually glad they asked about it.
Sorry, it's over a year later, and I still want to see an interview with the East German team. Go ahead and walk on eggshells around the question, but Ellen Berger won that bronze for them...plain and simple!
I would love to let Natalia Frolova know that people all over the world remember her beautiful gymnastics and to find out what she's doing now. It would be interesting to hear what her gymnastics experience was like and how it influenced the the person she became.
^^^^ OMG i was JUST going to request Produnova as well.
she by far is the one gymnasts i think a lot of people would internationally would like to catch up with. i feel as though she's one of the few gymnasts who became even more popular after retirement because they looked back and are in awe of what she did.
