Good observation! Wang Xiangu is one of my favorite historical figures. She was a cult hero and rebel leader in 18th-century Guizhou who fancied herself an immortal; she and her followers practiced a folk religion with deep roots in Daoism. Unfortunately, she proved all too mortal--Qing troops captured her and carted her away to the imperial capital, where she was summarily executed. But while she was alive, she (allegedly) did some cool things, like turning soybeans into soldiers and pebbles into rice.

To be honest, I don't know when Zeng Siqi turns senior, but I'm certain she's eligible for 2012. She hasn't competed at all this year, and I've never seen any footage of her routines (alas!). Luckily, she's still on the National Team, so I'm hopeful that we'll see her in '10.

Hey, you seem to know the 411 on chinese gymnasts, so I have a question for you. Zeng Siqi, when does she turn senior and has she even competed at all this year? And if so is there footage?

Yes, that would be great! (My friend was following the results today, so I know that Sui Lu flubbed beam, but beyond that, I haven't heard much.)
