Devyatovsky Top Qualifier at Russian Nationals
It was the first of five days of competition. The Russian championships will include a team finals for the first time, said head coach Andrei Rodionenko.
"For the first time we will test the same competition model which is used in the world championships and Olympic Games," Rodionenko said. "The championship will be in four stages: qualification (March 21-22), team competition (March 23), all-around final (March 24) and event finals (March 25). It should prepare our gymnasts to get into the rhythm they will face at the large competitions."
