Johnson Leads U.S. to Victory in Lisburn

American Cup champion Shawn Johnson led the United States to victory over Great Britain at a dual meet held today in Lisburn, Northern Ireland.

With a top team, the U.S. defeated its hosts by nearly 20 points.

Johnson topped teammate Shayla Worley in the all-around, 60.150-59.650. American Samantha Peszek finished third, one point behind Worley.

Johnson earned the highest score on floor exercise (15.000) and tied teammate Ivana Hong for the top score on balance beam (15.500). Worley outscored the field on vault (14.600) and uneven bars (15.450).

Hannah Clowes and Rebecca Wing, who tied for fourth all-around, led Great Britain. Laura Jones, two tenths behined Clowes and Wings, was the third British gymnast to compete on all four events.

The top three gymnasts from each nation will advance to Sunday's apparatus finals.
