OU Wins NCAA Championships

The University of Oklahoma won the team title Friday evening at the Men's NCAA Championships at Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif.

OU defeated host Stanford, the top qualifier from Thursday's preliminary competition, to wins its eighth team title. Illinois finished third.

Canadian world team member Casey Sandy (Penn State) won the individual all-around title over two-time U.S. world team member Jonathan Horton (Oklahoma). Stanford's Sho Nakamori finished third.

"A lot of times I tend to put pressure on myself to come through and I had some mistakes tonight, but my team was incredible tonight," Horton said. "They backed us up in everything. A lot of guys came through tonight. It was an incredible performance. I couldn't have asked for anything better."

Competition concludes Saturday with the individual apparatus finals.

The competition will be broadcast Thursday on ESPN2. Check local listings for time and station.
