Ukraine topped Russia and the United States at a tri-meet held Saturday in Kiev.

The Ukrainian team included Nikolai Kuksenkov, Vadim Kuvakin, Alexander Suprun, Alexander Vorobyov and Roman Zozulya.

Russia was represented by Maxim Devyatovsky, Alexander Dyomin, Dmitry Gogotov, Vladimir Olennikov, Konstantin Pluzhnikov and Yuri Ryazanov and Anatoly Vasilyev. Russia made multiple mistakes, including falls from Gogotov on floor (full-in dismount) and Vasilyev on vault (Tsukahara 2 1/2). Dyomin was impressive on vault with a Yurchenko 2 1/2.

American Jonathan Horton won the all-around, followed by Devyatovsky and Kuvakin.

Outside of Horton, the U.S. team performed inconsistently to finish third. Sean Townsend stuck a handspring double front-half on vault, but the team suffered multiple falls, including falls on pommel horse from Raj Bhavsar, David Durante (missed dismount) and world bronze medalist Sasha Artemev. Durante also fell on floor (front double full to Rudi) and Artemev fell twice on parallel bars (double pike between the bars, double pike dismount).
