Poll: World Records in Scoring
Should the FIG celebrate 'world record' scores, as it originally promoted?

Rave review of the new site!

BETA International Gymnast online — awesome. Finally, a web 2.0 online gymnastics magazine.

At first glance, the revamped IG looks GREAT. Far more functional than their nearest competitor, Inside Gymnastics online. The next best online magazine content-wise, GYMmedia.com from Europe, is positively hideous in comparison.

Congratulations to whomever is responsible for this huge upgrade. I’ll be far more actively engaged at the new site now that you have an RSS feed.

As editor of GymnasticsCoaching.com, I spend all day long looking at gymnastics websites. Even on launch, IG 2.0 is one of the best.

You have to be logged in to post a comment, but it's almost impossible to login! I had to try about ten times after registering! This is a nice idea but not ready to roll-out yet. Way too buggy. No matter where I try to go, I can't get there -- instead it jumps to somewhere else. And the "depression" pop-up so depressing that if you don't get rid of it, I won't be visiting again. If you weren't depressed before, you will be by the time you've seen that truly annoying pop-up everytime you try to navigate a page!

I appreciate the effort to improve the website, but this version just isn't ready for prime time yet. And if the pop-ups don't go, most of your readers will.

The only way to login, it seems, is to go back and re-click on the link in the confirmation email I received after registering. It does not seem possible to login from the website itself.

And having to put in the code from that hard-to-read image is a real pain. Not as bad as the pop-ups, though, which make the site basically unusable.

I often seem to have problems registering for other sites. But IG worked first time for me.

On the other hand, WHY DO THEY HAVE US REGISTER?

You don't have to register - our content is available for everybody. Registration is needed to comment and submit articles.

Don't worry - we won't be spamming you.

REgistration wasn't that much trouble, but you have to wait to get the confirmation email, and then it will log you in! now that depression pop-up...it's driving me nuts! You already have tons of ads all over every page, do we need this pop-up too? It's a little overkill! The new site is nice, although I had no complaints iwth the old, I just want to get my up-to-date gymnastics info!

I like the new site, and it seems like it will be easy to find things. Although I agree with everyone else that it is annoying having all the ads and pop ups. The actual story that you are reading only takes up half the page, and the other half is taken up by ads!

I think you are being a bit tough on IG here. The content is free to us readers. Ads have to pay for the site.

Are there pop-ups? I hate those too. But of course I turn on my pop-up blocker in my browser so I never know they are there.

On the other hand, I'd love the option of an ad-free version of the site, for a small public subscription

Ah, but this is lame.

When I went to check out the FORUM ...

http://igonline.yuku.com/login/loginnow/Login-to-Yuku.html

... I was asked to make a NEW profile.

Of course my existing profile with IG should be used to log me into the forum.

As a result, I will not visit the forum again. (I am no fan of forums, in any case. I'd much rather hear what the guru Normile has to say than Joe Blow.)

Eventually we WILL have a message board integrated with the site. However, we've used Ezboard/Yuku for several years, and the board archives and user profiles cannot be moved over. We will have to start from scratch.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! We already re-started the message board from scratch once...those of us that have been on there and faithful are now on the 3rd board w/lost content between changeovers...Please no more lost content and message board changes!!!!!
